What NOT To Flush Down The Toilet

We know the horror of clogged toilets. Whether small children are shoving their toys into places toys should never be or you happen to use too much toilet paper, we KNOW you’ve had a bad experience with your porcelain throne. Sometimes it’s hard to avoid which is why plumbers exist to help bring your toilet into working order again.

However, we at Rapid Rooter have taken the liberty of creating a list of items that should NEVER under any circumstances find their way into your toilet. Protect your plumbing from things that can ruin your pipes and cause thousands of dollars in damages later down the line!

1. Flushable Wipes

Yes, we know they say “flushable” right on the package, but in reality those small wipes can create a big problem. Toilet paper is designed to deteriorate properly and quickly when it makes it’s way into your pipes. Flushable wipes take much time to break down which makes it that much easier for a clog that you won’t see coming.

2. Menstrual Products

Menstrual products such as pads or tampons are not designed to flushed. They’re primary purpose is to absorb and contain fluid which means they will be doing the exact opposite of what you’re toilet paper does.

3. Diapers

4. Paper Towels or Tissues

Paper towels and tissues are not designed to be flushes and will not break down in the water. You’re better off throwing those out in a trash can.
